A family in the Philippines is helping to break down stigma

I have just read this lovely article about a cafe in the Philippenes which is providing work for autistic young people and others with disabilities. Click here for more details.

What particularly struck me was the way in which the project is obviously fostering increased understanding of autism as well as teaching life skills and coping strategies for the young people.

As the article indicates, it is really important for young people to be given the chance to practise life skills they have been taught outside the classroom in order to generalise the strategies in different environments.

Well worth a read!
